Don't have a lot of time today to test it out, but wanted to write down first impressions. I like the 8" size, it fits nice in hand. Weight is very light, build quality appears very good. Came with a peel-off screen protection, which i am leaving on for now.
Started up right away, and had about 80% charge. The screen, while not IPS, has pretty good viewing angle, and is bright and vivid. The Onda V801 touch is very responsive, maybe better than any device I've had so far.
Lots of chinese apps preinstalled, but it is set to English. I set up Google Playstore, downloaded Titanium Backup, then restored a bunch of apps from a prepared sd card, with a Titanium Backup file from another tablet. The batch restore was very quick, and no app has failed to run yet.
In settings, you can adjust the cpu mode from normal, to performance, to power saving. In Quadrant, normal got about 3325, performance 3811. Antutu score was 6330, while linpack came in a little over 69. These scores are in line with how fast it feels, which is pretty damn quick.
Onda V801 Battery life is to be determined, I won't say anything until it's had a few full cycles. Played some games like Asphalt 7 and Agent Dash, they don't seem to be any trouble for this little tablet.
Wifi connection seems good, and browsing loads the webpages quickly. overall, Onda V801 for $130USD it's a very satifying tablet. I'll try to get some photos this weekend.
